I don't "think" that there are any hidden files, especially not in a DVD.
There's most likely a problem with your DVD drive or the actual DVD.

It's essentially the same. But I still can't make heads or tails outta it. The more I look at it the more I think it maybe encrypted or something.

Sorry, but I forgot to mention that this is a Japanese game, so it most likely uses shift JIS encoding.
