Okay, please go to your Windows directory and to the System32 directory in there. Find the scrrun.dll and right-click it to select "properties".

This is due to the old DOS multiex executable that runs the script for SDT. in a Windows (XP) environment it just runs very unstable. I am working on conversion of old scripts to the new ones. Then it will be extractable again and I can get rid of the old.
OKay, well, this problem lies with the program you are using, mw4append. It's just not written to modify these Merc files. It doesn't handle compressed files! You see, some files in there are compressed, and in the original file there will be two size variables for each resource, uncompressed size, ...
