The texture quality has not got much to do with the overall look of a game. Doom 3 looks good, but I don't think it uses higher resolution textures to do that.

:? Er... Far Cry is already supported and Doom 3 .PK4 files are, as Rahly said, your basic .ZIP files. Just open them with your basic unzipper.
They will be supported in MultiEx Commander though.

Well, you just decide what you want to do. Look around on http://www.marktplaats.nl for prices, or ebay for worldwide prices.

I saw one being sold for 15 euro, but that had also some games and stuff added to the package.
