Yes, or if they are all big , you can use the Filecutter on them, to send (or attach) me the first and last 512Kb (or 1024kb) of the file. The tool uses a dll that comes with MultiEx Commander though, so if you haven't please install that first. Thanks!

okay, I do that. But the process fails and returns False. I get the list of files in the archive allright, and I then take one of them and use as the ArchiveFile string. I use a temporary filename as external file. I use the same FormatIndex stuff and ArchiveHandle that I needed to list the contents...

OK, as I saw, the FieldData in TFindFIleInfo is en empty string after mpFindFirst/Next . Is this correct? Do I have to tell the manager to give me the details (like offset size etc)?

I have noticed that as well. :eek: Weird. Especially, since it does show in the list if you wish to open an archive.

It's a bug, and on my to-do list for the next release.
