By the way, I noticed you can also open some of the other files inside GL archives with this script. They have the same format. So, you can open "sound" from the NSP3D.GL file and listen to the sounds. And open "music" to extract midi tunes. Just rename them to <name>.mid and listen. The .DAT files ...

Just a coffeebreak thought. Between all the hassle of daily life, I always try to find time to play an actual game. My recent games include Oblivion, which I've completed and currently I play the odd game of Company of Heroes. Oblivion was fantastic throughout, though I got a bit bored by those damn...

This is what xnView gave me for the uncompressed one.
It supports TIM to view and convert to other formats but is not officially supported, I guess that's the reason why I can't convert back to it. If anyone has a program that can, then please help out DRAVEN in the Graphics Files thread.

Wouln't it be better to have converters/viewers as plug ins for mexcom? that way we wouldn't need to code interfaces for every little program Not better, but something else. To have the information at the wiki for everyone else to learn from is one of our primary aims. To share knowledge. Converter...

Ah, yes, so this would be a great opportunity to read our Definitive Guide on Exploring File Formats first, before you use the Hex editor. The first chapters explain a lot for you then. Read it here:

Textures. Graphics. And the like --> Wiki

Hi all, It would be swell if you could not only figure out new texture formats etc here at the forums, but also post the specs of these at the Game File Format Central http://wiki.xentax.com ! This way there will be a repository of known texture formats, that may save future time of investigation, w...

I had a quick peek at the Delphi units, seems not too hard.
Maybe I'll also write plugins for the other archives I made explorers for (Titan Quest, Secret Files Tunguska etc.)
Awesome! 8)

# MexScript for Star Crusader *.GL files # by Mr.Mouse # There is something odd at the back of the GL file # I investigated. There is a pointer to a tail, # along with the number of filenames, that fits the # tail section starting from the pointer nicely. # However, before that pointer there seem t...

I downloaded the demo and had a look at the files. The directory is Huffman compressed. I've located the decompression code in the exe, so it's again probably just a matter of time.
Could this be a trial for a Rahly's PM MexCom plugin? ;) ;)

Okay, here's a plugin for MexCom. Just copy it to the plugins/pak folder of MexCom. This will open Spellforce PAK files and extract files for you. It was actually a simple format. // Header byte {3} - Magic Word "PAK" byte - Version number ? uint32 - Offset to tail uint32 - Uncompressed size of tail...

Yes, so, this part is then the compressed tail.

Uncompressed size would have to be 621553 bytes.
