It's me or the 99% of actual PC games it's bullshit? :? Well, I don't know if that 99% is accurate, but yes, I agree a lot of it is bullshit. There are however some real gems. Honest! I name Command and Conquer 1 and Red Alert, Elite, Morrowind, Oblivion, Baldur's Gate, Homeworld, Master of Orion, ...

Lol, this is getting a monologue. Oh well, one more post.. :P Currently playing Overlord, a sort of 3d person Dungeon Keeper, but without the RTS bit and more focused on tactical combat. So far it's turning out a quite nice experience, and you can be really evil. Yet, the evilness doesn't seem to ef...

Sorry we haven't responded before, busy busy. We would certainly be happy to migrate your info to Game File Format Central. We should take this up with Dinoguy1000, please contact him as well, or perhaps he reads this. :) Excellent idea!

Re: Ascension to the Throne .PAK Extractor v1.0

Another quite simple tool :D Download: Ascension to the Throne .PAK Extractor v1.0 You seem to be making lots of tools. Would you be able to add them to the Game File Format Central ? http://wiki.xentax.com/index.php/Game_Tools We could also host any of them at Xentax, just say the word and we'll u...

Well, it's not supported yet. If you could cut up the 740 MB file into pieces of 512 KB- 1 MB using the filecutter, we might be able to take a look at it.

Ok, and could you also cut other PKR files, that might contain other types of data? In the media.pkr file there are only BIK movie files that are not compressed. I'd like to see if the format does take into account compression. Thanks!

It looks like ActiveMark copy protection. DeActivemark might do the trick (deam). Look it up, there's documents on this type of download-digital software protection. It also uses ZLib compression here and there on parts.

Okay, it would be cool to have a large (whole) file of this, but can you tell the size in bytes of media.pkr? Here's what I can gather so far: // Header 00 byte{4} Magic Word ("PKR3") 03 uint32{4} Offset of tail // Data 07 data Start of first resource //Tail (the virtual offset I guessed from the sn...

My Place

I thought to open a thread with some snaps of people's computer rooms/places. So we can picture them sitting there when they post here ;). To start off with, here's three of my base in 2002. One snapshot I had taken for a PC games website (cleaned up). This was in March 2002. The other snapshots are...

Starstruck from The Black Lotus apparently won the Assembly demo competition last year (2006). That's quite something, to win from PC demos. (Or the PC demo scene is getting sucky :P ).
