The code you posted needs to be adjusted for it to be a generic dat file extractor/creator, as the main function just builds one from a "data" subfolder in the current folder. This is effort that I'm not sure people will want to do, if the only reason you won't do it yourself is mere lazyness.. Neve...

People - young people - think crap of it, they haven't seen the original. Me, I picture myself sitting in the bedroom of my cousin who owned a c64 and playing this fantastic new game, that had digitized voice and extremely addictive gameplay! My cousin completed the game a few weeks later ! :D

Interesting question. I too have not (bothered) to find out. And just assumed a maximum possible size (like....duhhhhhhh...10 times the compressed size). Call me pragmatic .... and you'd be right!!!!!

Oh and there's some VAG files in there (audio), some PNG files (graphics that are in some odd PNG format). Padding is done up to blocks of 2048 bytes.

Use the nice MFAudio from an unknown author to convert VAG to WAV and back:

No, it seems all files have been saves in sequence, with some padding applied. There are GIM files, VAG files, one PMF file, some unknown 'PPHD' files and a chunk of MIDI files ('MThd'). Perhaps there still is another file that acts as a list of the files in the archive as already suggested? Check y...

Nice going, Texel, sad to see you leave the MS community, but as a father of a child of two, I can relate to you. Releases of MultiEx Commander has halved in terms of time. ;) Thanks for the tool and source. I'm sure other people can pick up on it and continue the work. :D http://www.xentax.com/uplo...
