Re: Prototype p3d archives
Thanks, but there is more. Here's a snippet from the table of contents you can get from MultiEx Commander using the .BMS file I posted. MultiEx Commander Table of Contents ----------------------------------- D:\Downloads\files\manhattan_Cell_10.p3d Number of resources: 1277 TOC Created on: 19-6-2009...

Re: Prototype p3d archives
Yes, such as these DDS files (in bin format only preceded by a unint32 filesize variable). You can learn something from the order they are in the manhattan cells.p3d, as the small files are actually information files about the DDS pictures. Re: Prototype p3d archives
Oh but there is a pattern there. // DRAFT FORMAT // HEADER byte(4) 'P3D' + 0xFF unint32 version? unint32 archive size // Resource entries byte pointer number A of original resource? Like in structs? byte pointer number B of resource byte Type ID 1 byte Type ID 2 unint32 start of next section (in dis...

Santa Clause in Trouble XPK archives
By request, I looked into these XPK files from Santa Clause in Trouble. // Header uint32 Number of resources (Num) // String Pointer Table (pointers to filename strings) uint32(Num) Pointers to start of null-terminated filename strings in the next table uint32 Pointer to end of last string/start of ...

Re: A.I.M Racing
After analyses I do think that a whole uncompressed archive with files saved back to back was compressed using smal chunks of 32768 in size, and that the chunks are stored in the right order as well. Other values could indicate SRC or something. What about Deflate? or LZSS? Here're some tab-delimite...

Re: A.I.M Racing
You can't. These are my first findings of the archive format. What we have yet to establish is: 1. Each resource was probably divided in chunks of 32768 (&h8000) bytes before compression. So, in essence, the chunks in the archive will allways be either 32768 in size (i.e. NOT compressed, see Com...

Re: Return to Zork FLE file
Yes, this is the code that should do the trick, someone adept in C might be able to whip up an extractor/converter. From resource.cpp: void PictureResource::loadRaw(byte *source, int size) { // Loads a "raw" picture as used in RtZ, LGoP2, Manhole:N&E and Rodney's Funscreen Common::Memo...

Re: A.I.M Racing
Okay so far I have established the following. // Header [4] MagicWord "SGMF" uint32 Number of files uint32 Number of file chunks uint32 Size of uncompressed filechunk uint32 Null // Resource information ('number of files'-times) [80] Filename uint32 Offset (in uncompressed archive?) uint32...

Re: Red Alert 3
:D Well, as far as RTS games go, I'd have to mention StarCraft, WarCraft 2, C&C+Red Alert and Age of Empires. More or less in that order. AoE2 was still a favourite though. Total Annihilation was good also, but I never got hooked to it for some unknown reason (Perhaps it was the futility of the ...

Re: is this file compressed
Look, Deve, I have been informed by several members here that you more or less stalked them with this request. You lied about the need to repack the files as you know the game runs also with the unpacked files. The fact that you have edited all of your own posts here and removed all text shows that ...
