Re: Resident Evil 5 Benchmark Backgrounds
Okay, get the example dds file I attached and open it using a hex editor. The first 128 bytes is the DDS header. Replace all data that comes after this with the uncompressed file you extract using MultiEx Commander and update the width and height in the header. Google for the DDS header format. I've...

Re: Burnout Paradise .BIN files. help!
You can use this MultiEx Commander script to extract the compressed chunks or files that are mentiones in a table at the beginning of the bin files. However, sometimes a larger file is separated into multiple chunks of originally 65536 in size. I have not bothered yet to see if this is id-able somew...

I suggest you also take a peek here, there's some more info: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3589
As for the files, can you post a screenshot of MultiEx Commander? You have to construct the dds file yourself. But, first take a look at the above thread.

I'll take a look at this. What are you after anyway? What is it that you wish to accomplish with this game?

Re: Resident Evil 5 Benchmark Backgrounds
True, but that's not neat. And generic extraction won't work here, as the textures have been modified. Here's BMS for MultiEx Commander that will extract everything from any *.arc file. You should check the BenchResource.arc, that has the images you want. ComType ZLib1 ; ImpType Standard ; IDString ...

Re: Bionic Comando
Look, the files are saved one after the other in these big files. Obviously, each last chunk of a resource is NOT 65536 in size. The BMS script assumes that this is just one big file, and incorrectly saves all chunks to one file. The archives start off with the number of resources, and then the chun...

I'm just bumping this one time as he clearly made an effort to write a lot of pre-info.

[NDS]Civilization Revolution Save game files
I've got trouble figuring out the complete format of the Nintendo DS savegame files. There seems to be some kind of compression or CRC going on. Parts start with 90 XX and then actual values that make sense, but this is not consistent. If I alter those parts that make sense, the game detects corrupt...

Re: writing a .bms for a frreware 3d game: magic pets
The null-terminated filenames have extremely easy encryption. Remember that filenames usually have the structure: name.ext So clearly, C4 E1 F4 E1 AF C5 E6 E5 E3 F4 F3 AF C2 EC EF EF E4 F3 AF C2 EC EF EF E4 AE E4 E4 F3 00 is one filename. The last 4 characters: AE E4 E4 F3 are then the dot + extensi...
