Re: Ys Online .bms request .Ysf file format
Yeah, I wrote that code. I don't do BMS scripts though (simply because I have a very hard time understanding the confusing syntax... I mean "LOG" to write data a file? seriously? ;) ) so you have to either find someone else to convert it for you, or simply use the program from where you gr...

Re: [PS3]Star Ocean Last Hope International
its not hard to extract from the ps3 version but the assets are in a different format. Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but how did you manage to "decrypt" (?) the header of that file? The first few kb look like random junk and there's no file table/directory that I could find... -Da...

Yeah, it's a shame that he removed the converter. Nobody seems to have a copy of it

Re: [Request] Guild Wars 2 DAT
IIRC there was a switch for GW2.EXE to download the DAT file as uncompressed. I cannot find it anymore. Is it still in the .EXE nowadays? If so, does anyone know what switch it was?

PS3 Cross Edge / Agarest "secB" archives
This is probably an easy one. I'm still trying to figure out how the offsets are stored. Filenames are in some kind of "name table" with each file only referencing into that. Anyone want to take a shot? I can also provide more sample files if needed (the game has 19 of them, 9 of which are...

Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread but:
the D/L links are all gone
Anyone still have a copy of the files from this thread?
thanks

Re: how to modify CreateWindowEx to force windowed mode?
Look for the Microsoft Detours library, available somewhere on research.microsoft.com. It can do function hooking, so you can modify the arguments to CreateWindowEX() there

Re: Ps3 format help
While decrypting games with a debug console might be possible (I have read lots of people claiming to have done it, but all dumps you can find on the internet are still encrypted because they were dumped with 'dd' on PS3-Linux), running backups or ISOs is definitely not possible with debug consoles....

PS3 hacked -- what now?
Okay, I'm sure everyone and their cat have read about GeoHot (George Hotz of iPhone fame) having hacked the hypervisor on the PS3 (the details are a bit more technical but it's basically a first step to running unsigned binaries on the PS3) [Note: if you haven't heard it yet, just google for GeoHot ...

Re: Help reinjecting PNG and JPG
Depends. On unix/linux there's a tool called "dd" that can do it. It should also be available on windows. Any hexeditor should also be able to handle it (like frhed or hexedit32 on windows). the third option involves some small C program to do it. sth. like this: #include <stdio.h> int mai...

Re: Help reinjecting PNG and JPG
If the new files are smaller than the original it should be no problem, just put them back in. If the tools you use don't allow that, simply fill the files up with zeroes until they're the same size as the original. If they're bigger, well, you could try one or more of the following - optimizing com...

Ys Online
Hiya! Recently, a new MMORPG has entered open beta: Ys Online . I think the 3D models are inside the XAC/XSM format. A quick search on google showed that some sim city game also uses an XAC format, but I didn't find any suitable viewer to try out. Maybe someone else can help out. I uploaded a sample...

Re: Return to Zork PRJ File
Return to Zork uses the MADE engine and is supported by ScummVM:

There's probably some code to read *.prj files in there

Re: algorithm for searching/recognizing strings automatically?
There's a UNIX command called "strings" (which has cygwin and probably even native win32 ports) which does exactly that. It's not foolproof either, but since nothing in this area can really be foolproof (because of codepages, encodings, markings in high-bits, etc.) it's better than nothing...
