Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

Energien: nice work :)

just a minor thing I wanted to ask: does anyone know if its possible to code texture slots into an OBJ file (so, after import, textures will be loaded to materials)?

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

Well.. IMO all non-related posts should be deleted, also, someone should sum up importing/exporting to the most popular 3D applications, so newbies wouldn't ask around that, either. Somewhere else (Holy Cow section, or wherever), someone should create a topic specially for FM3 mesh renders/converts ...

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

hey all! i have problem with textures..:(,look the picture the textures dont apply right in car (sorry for my bad english) Lights Texture: there are 3 lights textures. 1 is in the shared files (I never actually saw any mesh mapped to that) 1 for LOD1-LOD5 models (lights.xds) 1 for LOD0 models (ligh...

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

also, until that happens, ZModeler2 users can remove non-planar poligons by using the modify-submesh-cleanup tool

Re: forza 3 textures??

general textures were posted in the Forza3 mesh extraction research topic, page 8, by sommergemuese.

about the rim textures, they are in a separate folder. I don't really know where, but if you find it, could you hit me up with a PM?

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

Since I have never seen this kind of deformation in 3D Studio MAX besides Forza's meshes, I think it should somehow be related to... hmm. I don't really know. Do you think it might be related to Forza3 meshes? And, since the thread was created to export Forza3 meshes, I think this should probably be...

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

I think getting a piece of useable LOD0 mesh actually is topic-related.

maybe try ZModeler2->GTA4 WFT->MAX GTA4 import filter.

in GTA4, every mesh looks fine for me.

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

I don't remamber what exactly it was, but the last time I downloaded stuff from microsoft's site, I could choose english-german-chinese-whatever else stuffs for languages. Again, I don't remember what it was.

I don't want to look like the smart guy, cause I really dunno anything about programming and stuff..

but have you guys installed all frameworks in english? Cause, seemingly, the problem is related to localazations.

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

@BigBear: he had troubles with XTX do DDS @430scud: every part is separated to materials. All mats are deleted, but if you check it, the front bumper is in like 8 parts. Those are on 8 different materials that you have to make up. Most commons are glass, glass black, body, shared maps (chassis, unde...

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

Retry. Re-extract the file and try it open. The only tool i know is that XTX converted, and for me, it worked.
For the materials, you have to make all.

If you still happen to have problems with the textures, send them through a PM, and i'll see if it works for me

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)

Sorry for going offtopic again. You probably should update the first post so these newbies' questions wouldn't be asked anymore. my way of importing to ZM: import to MAX (@OBJ import dialogue, untick the "OBJ Smoothing Groups) option export to 2DS import to ZModeler 1.0.7 save as Z3D open in ZM...

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)

@BigBear: Kot meant that its not a big job to pull new mats around the mesh. I use ZModeler2, and I finish it in around 15-20 minutes (@Kot: material names are not in there anymore, after 3ds export, you get nam0001 and so on) also, if I may ask, I noticed that the leather part's mapping is gone whe...
