Yup, that's it. took me forever to figure it out though. I wrote a giant python script which reads the CMP file and converts the meshes to a plain text format which I then import into 3dsMax with a custom maxscript. I'm in the process of writing up a document on what all I've found on the CCS file format, as well as a program that can open and view the models/textures from them.
