I attach the exe compiled with static linking of the CRT. This eliminates the necessity of the CRT dlls.

I tested on a file. I think this function just decompresses the gr2 file and returns the raw data.

Yeah but the strange thing is that the last byte is always filled with 00 and the other CDs are always decoded. This doesn't make any sense.
Maybe it's just something to confuse decryptors.

Obviously he isn't familiar with debugging. Debugging or at least disassembling the exe often is the most promising approach for (rather complex) encryption.
