Re: Settlers 2: Rise of Cultures

EDIT: Yeah, the meshes are followed by the skeleton.
I uploaded some more files containing no mesh.

EDIT: What could be contained in the skeleton?

Re: Need help in Albatross18 compression method

This is not RLE, this is based on LZ, but with a very strange encoding.

EDIT: Seems like they XORed the flag byte with C8 :?

Re: Legend: Hand of God

No clue what these scripts contain. they got filenames like CITYGUARDHEIGHLANDQUEST.SCRIPT, CURSEDBOY.SCRIPT, FARMFRAU.SCRIPT, .. (hehe german developers ) You need a hex editor to figure out file formats. I personally use 010 Editor, that's why I always post 010 Editor binary templates (that ...

Re: Settlers 2: Rise of Cultures

Since I am good in 3D models data, so I help you out here! Hope that people can help me in compression data! I knew I can count on you :) Back to the topic, It seems all 3D data use the same extension *.KEX! -donkey_mesh.KEX, donkey_mesh_LOD1.KEX, donkey_mesh_LOD2.KEX and donkey_mesh_LOD3.KEX are m...

Re: Legend: Hand of God

Seems to define camera moves (guess for ingame cinematics) rather than the normal ingame camera. DAT is the directory. uint numEntries; struct Entry { string name; // why does that contain CR LF? byte zero; // double 0 terminated string? uint offset; uint uk; // checksum? } entries[numEntries]<optim...

Re: Breaking hashes?

Name breaking optimizations (Good news) There are some optimizations, which ease and speed-up the name breaking It is good to sort the names in the archive by their ordinal numbers in the archive. Because the archives are most often built from locally stored files in one batch, archived files from ...

Re: Breaking hashes?

The keyword is bruteforce. As you might already guess, it takes centuries to break long keys. As the author describes in this site, there are several things that ease name breaking for MPQ. (Otherwise it was nearly impossible to break all of the files) If you want to get the key for an MD5, LM, NTLM...

Settlers 2: Rise of Cultures

The predecessor of this game used Granny. But Granny Viewer isn't able to to open the files used by this one. Seems like they use a proprietary format now. I attached the donkey model files as an example. EDIT: k, the strings are saved Pascal-style, preceded by their size (4 bytes). Regarding LOD3.....

Re: Settlers 2:Rise of Cultures Tool

Ok here is a preliminary encrypter. It is a hacked version of the encrypter for S2:DNG.
Just in case I don't have the time to finish my own

EDIT: In case of virus messages: I couldn't find anything bad in there, AntiVir & Co. normally cry wolf cause the exe is packed.

Re: Settlers II : Rise of Culture

No it doesn't work. Files with less than 8KB have 1 corrupt byte, bigger files have more . Just take goods.lua. At the end of the file the decompression fails. And I still don't know why the crc check fails on files like data.lua where the decryption seems to work properly. The problem with making a...
