Yes, the codec is determined by the header: http://wiki.multimedia.cx/index.php?tit ... _Arts_SCxl
As I already said, either they keep the header in a different file or they use a common, predefined format for all sounds.

Re: NFS Undercover MUS format?
Yeah, there's no real file format to figure out. You need to know the codec and the parameters to get along.
But thanks for your offer, we need programmers here
btw: used to C++? Try D!

Re: Silent Hill:Homecoming pak files?
To finish this: (code is not tested) GetDString magic 4 0; If magic <> "PAK_"; CleanExit; EndIf; Get Dummy Long 0; Get numFiles Long 0; Get Dummy Long 0; For i = 1 to numFiles; GetDString filename 64 0; Get Dummy Long 0; Get timestamp Long 0; Get offset Long 0; Get size Long 0; Get Dummy L...

Re: Silent Hill:Homecoming pak files?
You can at least extract the entries with valid offsets and sizes.
Somebody just needs to write a BMS. I don't have time for that.

Good old OllyDbg
And sometimes I use IDA for disassembling, but I'm not very experienced in using this tool. Thus I only use basic functions, mainly the graphical view.

Re: need help with DK2 models
Not sure, but since there is no magic ID, I probably set a breakpoint on CreateFile and ReadFile trying to get to the memory address where the texture data resides. Then I set a "breakpoint on access" on the data. But IIRC it didn't break. Maybe they pass the compressed texture to the grap...

Re: need help with DK2 models
Of course I already tried that, but it's hard to find the algorithm. Haven't had any luck yet.
Maybe I'll give it another try when I have my 2nd monitor (if I ever manage to buy a new one).

Re: NFS Undercover MUS format?
That is the problem, no tools can support can support this yet until someone figures out how the stream system works. It needs the headers, but adding a simple SCHII header won't do it either because it needs the additonal SCCI info and all that. So its complicated for that. Well, SCCI and SCDI are...

Re: NFS Undercover MUS format?
Well what about the tools created for previous games, shouldn't it be easy for their developers to support this game as well?

Re: NFS Undercover MUS format?
Well if you knew which codec is used, you could probably convert it. Did you try any tools?
