Re: Final Fantasy III PC (steam) textures
Have you tried using Noesis? The models and textures are likely those from the iPhone version, which is just a port of the PSP version with upscaled textures.

Re: Ninja Ripper
Would anyone be able to share the most recent 3ds max plugin for the .rip files at all?
The link on the website is broken, I'm assuming the dropbox folder it was linked to has since been deleted.
Thanks

Re: Corpse party .x and .mqx model format [Noesis fail on .x
If you want the uncompressed binary .x file to be viewed in the DirectX viewer you could convert it into txt using MeshConvert /xt /a (MS DirectX SDK). (But my version of MeshConvert doesn't seem to care for frames.) The.mqx is an xml file. Add .xml as an extension and open it in wordpad or notepad...

If I had to make a guess, I'd say perhaps they're compressed .x files, yep. read this thread: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=11334 model_x.JPG If you want the uncompressed binary .x file to be viewed in the DirectX viewer you could convert it into txt using MeshConvert /xt /a (MS ...

Corpse party .x and .mqx model format [Noesis fail on .x]
Hey Guys I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me in opening/exporting the .x and .mqx file formats from the game 'Corpse Party Dead Patient', I've placed the files in my dropbox here . I know that theres a .x plugin for noesis, however for these files it doesn't work, noesis says it can't...

Is the viewer still actively being worked on? I work on it form time to time I am still trying to figure out the anima...

Persona 4 RMD files Broken Environments
Hey Guys. I know theres this topic here: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=10760 that discusses the persona 4 RMD format, and even ends in the creation of an RMD viewer, which works great for character files, but for environments and buildings it just produces a huge confusing mess of...

I don't currently have the games file formats handy, but does anyone know if this is the same format used for the world map data itself, not the characters but the actual terrain and whatnot.

Re: Best Game engines
Unity still doesn't do skinning on the GPU? Is that really true? I remember thinking it was laughable on first-gen iOS devices because of its awful skinning performance. Back then you had matrix palettes but well-optimized CPU skinning was usually still a win because it was so easy to get transform...

Re: Best Game engines
any unity plugin recommended for RPG? Only the ones I'd recommended before, if you do a search for RPG in the asset store you'll find some good stuff quickly enough, but you'll have to pay for most of it, no way around that unfortunately. Though if this is your first game, and it sounds like it is,...

Re: Best Game engines
then I'm off with unity, I'd say. Mass effect, I guess, used a very heavily modded version of the engine... Yup that it did, a lot of engine preference is really down to personal preference, much like how some of us in this forum use Maya for 3D whilst others use Softimage, Blender or 3DS Max, its ...
