Re: [PS3] Metal Gear Solid 4 (.MDN) [Maxscript]
This is awesome, though unfortunatly all the textures just look like this for me: http://puu.sh/bMkUC/3ea3d0999f.jpg These are from the .slot files txn/dld etc but I had the same issue when trying it on the stage files. Tried opening these using various software I own that opens .dds and it doesn't ...

Re: [PS3] Metal Gear Solid 4 (.MDN) [Maxscript]
Is there any way to batch convert with TextureFinder (or at least fix that it only exports to BMP whats actually in view, anything off view, not exporter) or the MGS tool? The game has a lot of texture, and opening almost 40k textures one by one takes one hell of a long time. I'm so pleased this stu...

Re: I need someone to decompress a rom for me
Oh, go on, or does this still require a firmware below 4.5?chrrox wrote:3ds roms can be extracted with a 3ds.
but smash brothers is using the new 7x crypto. so that can not be extracted yet.

Re: I need someone to decompress a rom for me
There is no tool to unpack 3DS roms currently.
There are a few people on Xentax going through 3DS data, but its not from ROMS, its from RAM dumps and so its already decompressed.

Sorry to bump a dead thread but, will this work with the environment models too? Or is it only the characters with bones that're supported?

Re: GMO models, bones etc.
I don't understand. Do you mean this? http://i.imgur.com/KWHrYVi.png And is there a way to just put San/Kurenai bones settings to Kurenai/San model? Thats just the bones being shown, You'll want to take the models and bones into a 3d software if you want to swap the bones. The polycount of the 2 is...

Re: GMO models, bones etc.
Did you take into account the weighting of the bones?
The weighting defines what parts of the mesh are affected by the bone, I'd suggest taking it into 3d software first to check the weighting for the bones.

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Why do I bother? Combining edges, is a pretty simple task in all 3D softwares, though a lot of people don't realize that normals looking correct in 3d software isn't the same as normals looking correct in engine, 30 degrees often looks facited in maya with low poly models, but looks perfectly fine ...

Re: XeNTaX 25th Anniversary!
I've only been here since 2006, I might not be much of a ripper or a hex wizard like a lot of you guys, but being able to extract things from various games over the years really gave me a solid understanding of how 3D Game development works, and, as a 3D Artist I got to learn a lot of new techniques...

Re: 3ds Ram Dump
For those of us who aren't able to rip the game, but are really curious how the character models were constructed, would it be possible to bring Agnes or Tiz into Max or Maya, or even blender, and just record a short video, or some pictures of the character from various angles, with wireframe overla...

Re: Noesis support for NDS nmdp 3D Models
I can open the file perfectly fine in Tinke, what does that mean? Does it display the model mesh? if so, how did you do this? It doesn't open the file on its own, because it needs the texture too, its openable from the ROM file structure itself with no problem, its only because now I exported it it...

Re: Noesis support for NDS nmdp 3D Models
Its been quite a while now, and nobody seems interested in the format, so I dug a littlemore and managed to find this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7797280/t00_00.nmdp.lz I can open the file perfectly fine in Tinke, however it has no export option. The file doesn't look compressed, tinke just...

Re: 3ds Ram Dump
Am very much hoping someone posts something from bravely default, would really like to see the models from that game (including the world map, nobody seems to have extracted world maps from any JRPGS). It turns out the Japanese version of the game is < 4.5 http://i.snag.gy/rDBI1.jpg http://snag.gy/...

Re: FF Type-0 english patched yellow.pkg extraction problem
Unless you're intending to translate the game from English to another language, it'd make more sense to just get the original Japanese iso and extract that using noesis, as I can confirm that works perfectly.
