Compressed and Encrypted: Do you feel lucky punk?

Hi all, After several weeks wrangling with the new Fallen Earth MMO I've made some progress, but have finally hit a roadblock. If anyone cares to look these two files over to see if they can decipher the compression/encryption, please do! I've successfully extracted all the textures and targa files ...

Re: Zlib compressed, or something more?

Hmm darn, thanks again for looking into it. This is pretty much the last roadblock I've run into, at least I can get at the graphics assets. Was really hoping to dig around to find skill/item information, but may have to give up on that idea.

Re: Zlib compressed, or something more?

Bugtest, thank you! Your script works great on the DDS textures, and also TGA files from the archive. I was actually able to expand them using offzip too. The strange part is, it only seems to be working on DDS and TGA files. The other text files, JPG, etc. will not expand properly. I'm guessing it ...

Zlib compressed, or something more?

Attached is an example file, they appear to be DDS files yet will not load in any viewer. If I run the files through Jaeder Naub with zlib detection it generates a raw file. When the raw file is renamed to XXX.dds and viewed, *some* of them are working perfectly. Unfortunately others are coming out ...

Common hex signatures

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good source for identifying common file signatures in hex. For instance, from chrrox's tutorials and the Xentax wiki I learned that: TGA - ends with "TRUEVISION-XFILE" ZIP - hex signature is 0x04034b50 ZLIB - compression header sig. 789C Looking a bit d...

QuickBMS external directory archive script examples?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has an example on how to setup a script in QuickBMS to extract from an external directory archive. Is there a way to specify both files, or is it simply a matter of appending the data from the external directory archive into the main resource archive and using goto...

Re: Fallen Earth corrupted TGA & DDS files

It's also probably worth noting that when extracting the DDS files using Game Extractor, I see the same corruption. Could this possibly be an encryption or compression issue?

Fallen Earth corrupted TGA & DDS files

Hi all, I've been working on extracting the resources from the archives for the upcoming MMO Fallen Earth. I've had some success pulling .dds and .tga files, but I'm still seeing some corruption. I've simply been using Jaeder Naub, and while it seems to recognize the assets, I'm getting corruption i...

Fallen Earth IFS/CCH

(Modified repost) I've been working on deciphering the graf for FE (think Fallout, but online), but so far have only been able to decode a few of the fields. Attached: A zip file containing two ~100K cuttings from both files using Watto's Archive Cutter. OR see the next post for a text file with URL...

It's not released yet (although super close), so I PM'd you more details for now.

Re: Help needed with external directory archive (CCH/IFS)

Faalagorn, Just wondering if you've made any progress with this. I'm also working on tapping into the data for this game (yes I know exactly which one you're working on) :) I'm basically in the same situation, there's some very specific data within these files that I would love to be able to tap int...
