I have no idea how to get the textures in here, I can barely do it in the latest Blender version and 2.49 looks really weird, Usually you'd use this version for importing only, then export to .dae or .fbx and reimport it to a blender version of your choice to get the textures applied. Well, that worked, all .py in the lib folder of Python 2.6.2 copied into a folder, zipped into python26.zip and dumped in Blender 2.49 directory.
