I don't have the time to fiddle around with this but I found a good site where you could ask for help: http://asmodean.reverse.net/

Re: PS2 game, 3 files, need help getting font file.

Sure they could have compressed the imagedata or something else besides swizzling. Everything is possible^^ but it doesnt look compressed.

Re: PS2 game, 3 files, need help getting font file.

I dont know of any program that is capable of unzwissling TIM2 textures but I found some detailed information about TIM2 in general and even some code to unzwissle a PS2 texture. http://gtamodding.ru/wiki/TIM2 http://code.google.com/p/puyotools/source/browse/trunk/PTImgLib/VrSharp/Svr/SvrSwizzle.cs?...

Re: PS2 game, 3 files, need help getting font file.

I don't know for sure but I think the image was made this way by the developers to boost the loading times. The hardware can access the file faster if its arranged this way. That is just a guess there is still the possibility the image has just another format because of something else. Search the fo...

Re: PS2 game, 3 files, need help getting font file.

I guess in this case this is not a standard TIM2 file. Maybe its swizzled or some other fancy optimization? I really don't know. The game gets all the characters it outputs from the font file so if you don't alter the font file you are not able to display other characters than the ones in the font. ...

Re: PS2 game, 3 files, need help getting font file.

It really looks like one of the TIM2 files is the font (the one that is not just plain white^^). Since it looks scrambled I can imagine there went something wrong when you converted the TIM2.

Me too. The datavisualizer is great!

Would be nice if there were a relative search and a more complex colormapping feature.

Re: Arc Rise Fantasia Texture Editing

I just tried to edit the texture of a model and it worked fine on my Wii. Here is how I did it (in an overly detailed explanation): Used Wiiscrubber140 to extract the vol-file of the character (under \Char) Extracted all files of the vol with ARFX (was too lazy to rightclick the right one^^). Opened...

Re: Arc Rise Fantasia Texture Editing

Do you recalculated the offsets of the vol file after reinsterting something? VOLs contain size and offsets which needs to be changed accordingly.
This program will do the job: http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/815/

Re: Arc Rise Fantasia: brcha files

I went through the files, and it turns out that they were the animation files for the specific character. Not what I was really hoping for, but I can use these. Edit: Yeah, just remembered that there are no 3d models of the costumes in the game, they only affect the character portraits for the menu...

Re: Arc Rise Fantasia: brcha files

Looking at my notes it seems that these files are .brres files too. At least they have the same magicbytes in the header "bres". Thats all i can say since I was not fiddling around with the models or 3d data.

Its looks like its really hard these days to come by the tim2 format specification. Here is another Xentaxthread with the source for the tim2 photoshop-plugin: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1776&view=previous I also found this: http://subversion.assembla.com/svn/Tim2/ <--have no other...
