Re: Star Wars Episode III (PS2, .rp2 files)

Also a little side-note, if you replace this line in Acewell's script from:

Code: Select all

string NAME p "%s\%s" FOLDER NAME
to

Code: Select all

string NAME p "%s\%s.msv" FOLDER NAME
That will extension the files to .msv which is playable with foobar + vgmstream component. :)

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Sound Extract

If its .xma, try downloading foobar and vgmstream component to play them. If not, upload the original archives and I will look for you.

Re: Working On English Voices for Bomberman Jetters (GC)

Yes, this is true. Sometimes you have to rename certain extensions as the vanilla version of foobar takes priority in reading sound files first before vgmstream. Renaming then allows vgmstream to be prioritized as foobar doesn’t know what to do with the extension.

Awesome. Going to port that idea toward a bms script as well because why not :P

Re: Trying To Rip Voice Clips from Bomberman Generation (GC)

Haven't gotten the chance to look at the MDT archives yet. But, I will hopefully get the chance soon to figure out the structure of it.

Re: Trying To Rip Voice Clips from Bomberman Generation (GC)

You’re opening the input archive wrong. You should first select the *.bms, and then a *.seb (not the vgmstream.txth file!) and then an output folder.

Re: Trying To Rip Voice Clips from Bomberman Generation (GC)

Script is complete. So, here's how to extract and convert these files: Firstly. download QuickBMS: http://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm Next, download Foobar2000 + the latest vgmstream component (you can find this under "Components" on the main website): https://www.foobar2000.org/ Finally down...

Re: Trying To Rip Voice Clips from Bomberman Generation (GC)

I utilized vgmstream. The problem with GENH is that it doesn't provide the ability to provide decoding coefficients. Currently working on a BMS implementation for this. The pointer at address 0x1C of table 3 points to each set of decoding coefficients, which usually is seen as 16 sets of uint16s. Th...

Re: Trying To Rip Voice Clips from Bomberman Generation (GC)

I have a slight feeling that these are headerless DSP files, as just scrolling through the files I can see sample rates, and possibly a coefficient table for it. I just need to figure out how to parse it, as there seems to be several tables before the data starts (Still can't find the data start :P)...

Re: Reverse engineering of game archives - where the hell do I start?

The only issue is I think you're wanting to start off too broad, and should try to narrow down. I usually split reverse engineering (for resources that is) into three categories: Images Audio Models Wanting to write a level viewer right off the bat is very difficult, and I really don't recommend goi...

VB + VH can be opened in foobar2000 with the vgmstream component. Upload the SEQs.
