Re: Little extractor program
I'm glad that this topic is still alive and I thank everybody who esteems it. Unfortunatly for Win64-users this program is written purely in 16Bit-ASSEMBLER for DOS with a Win95-Interface and some tricks. Therefore it cannot be "recompiled" in any way for any other processor type or OS. I'm really s...

SWTOR fan:
Maybe I'm an old dumb turd but I have no idea what a silly "thanks" button causes. I never click on such button but the browser loads the website nevertheless - strange.I really like that "thank you" feature, thank you very much for activating it, Mr.Mouse!

Death To Spies series - VFS file format
This is an interesting format because these files have a tree-like directory structure which needs to develop a more complicated algorithm to reconstruct the file structure. There exists an extractor already but it runs with .net stuff installed only and therefore I felt I had to get involved with t...

Re: Little extractor program
Here is a small update, mainly fixing some nasty bugs. In my opinion the hell on earth for a programmer arises if he has to find a bug which is caused by overlooking the last byte in a buffer or by choosing the wrong of two comparison methods, for example a>(b-1) or a>=b . Not even the most sophisti...

This are the features I'm about to implement - (actually, these features WILL BE implemented, because a program of such a kind would not make any sense!): - Full source subdirectory file scanning providing essential information, surpassing standard file searching routines - Advanced command line eva...

Re: [PC] HPK Extractor
Isn't this a format by "Haemimont Games" compatible to "Glory of the Roman Empire"?
I think I started dealing with this almost one year ago, if I'm not wrong.

Re: Little extractor program
Hi, there's some problem with "goboarding" AGS games: old versions of Goboard extract 90% of files (without editor.dat and some rooms), and new versions can't extract anything, just creates 0 byte files. This shouldn't happen actually! Only 100% extration success should be accepted! But this can ha...

Re: Question about the Wiki
And lastly, is there somewhere on this forum or someone who can point me in the direction of, learning how to identify the formats? In my opinion there is no general rule. Any game developer tries to hide the data of its product in a different way. As a comparison: if you want to be a successfull c...

Yes. Restricted download speed to ~256kbyte/s.
Another fast server is SHARE BASE. To.
~150kbyte/s per file. But if you have to download many files at once you can outsmart it.

I agree with aluigi: viewtopic.php?p=32542#p32542.
Currently NEZLAOD.IN is the fastest download server for free users and even doesn't require JScript (with OPERA). Other download servers restrict their download bandwith to about 50~100kbyte/sec.

In my opionion you should like to do these these things: 1) Find out what problem you REALLY have (sorry, I didn't get it - maybe of my limited English language knowledge) and: 2) Try to enunciate your problem(s) into common understandable sentences so anybody who gets interested in your thread is a...

Re: Help using a debugger for encryption
Why do you think people like me are writing extractors? Every game tries to hide its content using special container files which contain all required ressources. Mostly it is done because of enforcing of copyright laws. (But in my opinion NOBODY has the right of storing data on my computer which con...
