Byte substitution cipher with QuickBMS?

So, Monster Hunter uses not only a xor-based encryption on their data and save files, but also a simple substitution cipher with a 256 bytes large table, where a byte with value %X is replaced with the value at table[%X]. To get at the 32bit xor key at the end of the file, you have to first put it t...

Dynasty Warriors 8 PC saves, which encryption?

This might be a strange request since i don't actually need help cracking the encryption. I already know HOW to decrypt them in theory by debugging the shit out of the game. The problem is i have not a single clue about hashes/encryptions (polynomials? ivecs? what???) so i don't know what encryption...

Creating a CSV table with QuickBMS

... Yeah, i think QBMS wasn't really designed for outputting a text log. Well, i've got a lot of parameter files containing basically binary tables of various values, and for each of these files another file that defines each parameter in the first file (name, size, type, value ranges etc.). Now, i ...

Soul Nomad & the World Eaters [PS2]

Here is a simple script to extract the DATA.DAT from the root of the DVD of this NIS game. Make sure that DATA.DAT and SCRIPT.H are in the same location and open either of them. # Soul Nomad & the World Eaters (PS2) # Script to extract DATA.DAT with SECTOR.H from the disc root # # by HenryEx # # scr...

Re: ClaDunX2 - PSP .dat file (simple script needed!)

Cool, thanks! I'm still not sure about the loop syntax, but it works. The music files in the Cladun X2 PSP version are .SPS, which seem to just be AT3 files with a 16 byte header. I modified the script to strip the header and directly export AT3 files for music. # ClaDun X2 (DAT format) PSP / PC # #...

ClaDunX2 - PSP .dat file (simple script needed!)

Hello, i guess i need some help after all after hours of staring at BMS syntax and hoping it starts making sense. I knew i was no good at math, because things like "for i < 0 = Files" just look like gibberish to me. It's a pity, because i know that what i need is a really simple BMS script to extrac...
