Re: Godhand PS2 Model file Research, + sample files

There's some point clouds to be found in the model file but I don't have the time to care for the face indices (autocreated ones tend to be ugly):

Re: Need help with model format! (.geo.data, .geo.data2, .meshinfo)

Those unloadable models have unknown (unk) meshtypes (87 or 120 for example) which are hard to track. Patching the script is horrible, I stopped it before those unks, so everything after them is lost, even known meshes. Also it seems that the patching has to be done per model. . bossfight_turretcart...

nearest hit I had with a .dat file:

You may fiddle around with the offset but I think it's a matter of color depth and/or resolution.

Re: [Request] Xin Jian 3

yeah, another brave hearted rider of dead horses - welcome to the club! :D See, you're dealing with NoeFlatWeights() ? Your base is example_bonemaps.py from MrAdults, I guess? To be honest: always wondered how to get this working, but didn't find a noepy model sample. (Idea was to use the def noepyW...

Re: Total War: Warhammer, Noesis script help

Hi jayn23, how is it going? Had a look at your script and guess you'll try out anims sooner or later. Don't have the time for some research but here's how you can easily test your weightings in Noesis (in case you didn't know): if typecheck == 0: mdl.setBones(bones) #this is an example of how to use...

You could try out AFSExplorer:

Re: Total War: Warhammer, Noesis script help

yeah, forgot that it's Noesis. :D Treating mesh and skeleton separated? (just for a test, of course, whether it cures the misalignment.) Exported as smd, cut of the mesh. Exported as obj, x-mirrored in blender for example. Exported as smd and adding the mesh(es) to the skeleton data. (yeah, horrible...

Re: Noesis script help

as you can see in the picture my mesh and skeleton are loading misaligned, the skeleton is rotated 180 deg from the mesh, i tried playing with the quats, randomly adding a (-) sign and got it rotated correctly but then the translation on X axis is slightly off. Why not leave the skeleton as is and ...

Re: Need help with model format! (.geo.data, .geo.data2, .meshinfo)

I checked higgins_boat_01.geo.meshinfo (from your opening post?) using hex2obj but the result is not nice:

Re: Need help with model format! (.geo.data, .geo.data2, .meshinfo)

thx! Got the idea of importing vertices and FIs (using hex2obj on paired files):
.
Outlaw_KnifeQuiver.geo.meshinfo.png
Now it should become understandable where/why the other .meshinfo/data/data2 files fail on import.
(Guess it's different versions.)

I uploaded a .rar file with the models I have trouble with
Do you have any .meshinfo sample that extracted correctly? The ones you provided have an empty model.meshList or give an error.

It's near to impossible to debug/trace the script without having a working sample, as simple as this.

Re: Marc Ecko's - Getting Up: 3d-Models (.msh file)

Thanks for this neat looking tool! Sadly i got this error: you can ignore it - it's a warning only. So does the tool give me (if everything works correctly) the adresses of every SM? You never can be sure. :D (The answer can only be given for a specific model where you assume some SM to be missing ...

I've tried using floats, and it does not freeze anymore, no bones pop out either though :D
You need to add
mdl.setBones(boneList) before mdlList.append(mdl)

For the endianness thingie: I think readBytes(count) simply reads "byte by byte" no matter which endianness was chosen.
