The cause: you might be using an older version of the exporter file. It had a bug: it didn'z export all the data of the object (v-normals). I had the same problem. On page 6 of this thread, Deltoone posted the latest version: d3app2obj.zip [4.17 KiB]. Try that, and give here a feedback. My problem: ...

So it seems the texture is pulled onto the model upside down.

I was rotating the texture in photoshop by 180, but this didn't help --> still the same symptom.
So the 3D engines are getting this info somewhat different, but I have no idea about that...

Anyway, as said before, the normals are not exported apperantly, and therefor in 3D Max it works just fine, since after the import, MAX does a recalc of the normals It was exported before by BoyC's converter, which makes porper normals... or not? :) With the other converter it was impossible to loa...

Hey Guys,

many days passed since I could check the forum... (perhaps 4 or 5 :))

so ...

As I've said I could load a model in flash, but the texturing is a different story...

I try to do my best, and will tell you if I have any progress.

If the engine cannot read the .dds, then it must be converted to a general format (e.g. jpg, png, etc...) We should find a way to solve that problem, if there is no way to do that, we need a better engine. I don't really get what you mean. _ filetype .obj and .jpg, .dds are very regular, every 3D s...

Ofcourse i do, trivial task, either OpenGL/D3D or even more simplier in Away/Papervision :) For a 3d programmer it might be trivial :) ... so you can extend/change the code I wrote in a previous post to load for example the adria.obj + the two textures into the flash framework (in away3D) ;) I wond...

If you just want to read .obj and .jpg, don't wasting time for research diablo 3 data. Because it's general filetype, all 3D graphic software and engine can read it. We don't have to read from .app files We do everything as we did: convert the .app --> we get the .obj (with proper vertexnormals), the .mtl and the .tex files we convert the .tex to .jpg for example, and then the engine loads them. I just don't know how to link the .jpg to the .mtl and the .obj in ...

Hey, I fonud some examples scripts (for ex. loading an .obj file + mapping, textures, etc...), and I could reach to load a .obj from Diablo3, but without any textures. The application would be very basic, so it's enough if I can load the .obj + the textures in it, and then rotate and zoom the model....
