Re: Dead Island .rpack files
Awesome to see that somebody is working on a tool again. You also did the unpacker and repacker for Just Cause 2, didn't you? The Avalanche one^^ I have to admit that every time I wanted to mod a game and couldn't access a compressed file, i tried dragging it on the avalanche unpacker. That was befo...

Re: [DeadIsland] Beginner's .rpack file experiments
compressed size matters in this case, and it will change. not uncompressed(it will not change). You should find coresponding packed file size hex in datas and section part of header in rpack file and increment packed size. ahh yeah haven't thought about that. k i found the file size header and edite...

Re: [DeadIsland] Beginner's .rpack file experiments
I now hit another wall...I was able to change the Bloodtexture of the blood that splats on the ground when you hit someone. But changing it only works when changing the color of the original file. If I add other pixels to the .dds and inject it into the act1a_PC.rpack the game starts but it doesn't ...

Re: [DeadIsland] Beginner's .rpack file experiments
you dont need to. they are indeed mipmap files of that font. you can seperate all of them. 512*512 for mipmap0 256*256 for mipmap 1 . . . 1*1 for mipmap9 thx again for the help, i was confused about the change in the .tex files before, but it all makes sense now. I'm glad that I used an easy .tex f...

Re: [DeadIsland] Beginner's .rpack file experiments
try that: packzip.exe -o 0x132800 filepath/00132800.dat "filepath/menu2_common_PC.rpack" 132800 is a hex number not decimal. Also, this method will work only if new compressed data is smaller than original one I think. edit: it also work for bigger files, if you edited section packed size...

[DeadIsland] Beginner's .rpack file experiments
Hi First of all I have to say I am a total beginner at all that stuff. I have almost no programming experience and can only somewhat read some program languages but not write at all. The only languages I somewhat know are NQC and Java. I came to this Forum when someone forwarded me to this Thread: h...

Re: DEAD ISLAND formats
you probably have figured that out by now, but what you want to do is not possible right now...you can open all those files you mentioned in a simple text editor though...sth like notepad ++ we need to be able to extract .rpack files (already partly possible ) and recompress the edited files into a ...

Re: Dead Island .rpack files
how can i open .msh (meshes) files? Had no success doing that either....my best bet was this blender script that was made here since call of juarez has the same engine but an older version of it. But this blender script doesn't even start for me....it probably has to be rewritten...but you could tr...

Re: Dead Island .rpack files
just a tool to inject font files (DXT5) will be very good. And how to compile this source? Use QT 4.7.4 (like he wrote in his post). You can run it in there. Was able to compile it, but not run it, even if i put all the needed .dll files in the same folder. But like I said it runs fine in QT Creator.

Re: Dead Island .rpack files
Awesome. Works perfectly. Now we can at least see the Textures without having to use TexMod, and we get the correct filenames aswell. Do you know if the content of the .rpack has a file structure? like Data/Textures or Data/Anim or sth like that? If yes, than that could perhaps make it possible to u...

Re: Dead Island .rpack files
Yeah you are awesome. It will be a great help if you can get your tool to be able to extract those .rpack files. But it is already nice to be able to see what is inside those files. Will it also be able to inject edited extracted files into the original .rpack files (like packzip). Or even better di...
