Re: New Rules, some questions

It's no wonder someone googlefucked you with that attitude. I must be a troll if I have a different view to your own on what is and what isn't legal use of copyrighted material. As for legitimate practices and goals, your kidding me right? You've been happily collecting money from the 'illegal' prac...

Re: New Rules, some questions

Where is the file format issue in that lawsuit? It's about emulation and advertising infringements. http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-9th-circuit/1281580.html But it does bring up a good point, 'fair use' and 'fan art'. Wouldn't limited 3D model samples come under fair use? (You could even clusterf#ck t...

Re: New Rules, some questions

Reverse engineering anything on your own, for whatever purpose, is perfectly legal, when you share the methods and tools for reverse engineering you are breaking copyright laws in most western countries. Basically anything you do that costs or prevents sales of/in related material is a violation of ...

Re: Pepakura .PBO to Metasequoia .MQO Conversion Script

Found lots of older version files, but better than that I found the older software zips and installers.
Got tenkai (old name) versions 123a and 140a, and pepakura designer versions 1.01, 2.01 and 2.17.
Zipped them up together if anyone wants them as a curiosity, pm me.

Re: Pepakura .PBO to Metasequoia .MQO Conversion Script

Yeah, did the script for the old version as well. It is a simple format for the 3D model anyway, the locale strings in the header are simply masked, there isn't any compression except for the texures, which is where it gets silly, there's no checking for repeated textures - makes compressing them re...

Re: Pepakura .PBO to Metasequoia .MQO Conversion Script

LOL - it's my old script..... Anyway, the dump = f.read(148) line near the top isn't always correct. For most western locales it's 148 bytes, guessing the file uses a different locale and/or font. For the files you posted it needs f.read(149) to work. Should really get around to fixing it at some po...

PTMD format

Got some PTMD files from the black rock shooter model files, wondering if someone could have a quick look. Ideally could do with getting them into 8 bit bitmap. I've had a good look at them, seem to have a 16 byte header, followed by 128 byte blocks, followed by a palette (3 bytes color + 1 byte alp...

Re: Black Rock Shooter

I'll collect some ptmd files and post them in the graphics section. They just implicit triangles like MrAdults said, stored as polygons. I have a cold so doing the faces like I did seemed a good idea at the time :) replace it with:- kk =0 vn = vnum -2 for q in range(0, vn): rm = q % 2 kk = kcount+q ...

Re: Black Rock Shooter

Finally got it to load correctly, think one of the tags is still incorrect, but ran out of files to test it on. Just the model, no UVs or textures. There are bones and textures in the format. CBA Python extractor - it aint pretty.... http://pastebin.com/rTMvuqku Metasequoia file http://uppit.com/hch...

Re: Black Rock Shooter

Was just looking as the possibility of half floats, floats have been working up until now. Managed to get the first block into metasequoia. When you come across 0x0000000B 0x00000014 0x****001D in the, lets call it a polygon table, it's messing up somehow, thinks is a problem with the variable size ...

Re: [PSP] Black Rock Shooter *.VOL (RTDP)

Still not able to make implicit triangles work. Take a look at this from chr_m_egb01.mdl http://pastebin.com/7EPQL2sN The data i'm showing you is the large chunk where each line starts with A2070012 The left half of the 3rd long looks like offsets to the vert list, so maybe these are triangle descri...

Try using the search, it was raised a few weeks ago, for papercraft purposes.
