Re: How do I convert .wav files to .xwb and .xsb? (Help Me, please!)

Hi Abyss Dublagens, if you have wav files and want to create xsb/xwb, then Apollos answer is absolutely correct: you require the right version of Microsoft XACT (which is/was part of the Microsoft DirectX SKD). If you want the game (Bully) to work with your created xsb/xwb than you also have to know...

Re: Stardew valley switch wavebank

Hi Gaara5, usually we have uploads of the audio archive (in this case the .xwb file), but I've been inactive in this forum for quite a while so things may have changed. You could try to use xactxtract which tells you if the files are wav, xma or xwma, but it'll work for little endian .XWBs (=used on...

Re: Weird .wav files won't play

Yes, but I have a major problem. I only get .wav files out of the .xwb with unxwb, I don't get .xma or .wma's :( Don't worry about the extension. Extract for example stock.xwb, then decode the xma to wav by xmaencode.exe 00000000.wav /X out000.wav (just an example, you'll rather use a script to dec...

Re: Weird .wav files won't play

Also, how did you use xmaencode to convert to .wav? I thought that was to convert .wav to .xma Am I supposed to convert it to .xma then use towav to reconvert it? I don't understand You can also use xmaencode like this XMAENCODE <xmafile> /X <pcmfile> in order to convert xma to .wav. After a closer...

Re: Weird .wav files won't play

Hi Pepsee and thanks for the samples. The .xwbs are in big endian order and contain wma files. The problem is: xactxtract can extract wma, but only little endian order files. unxwb can extract big endian, but no wma. unxwb doesn't show a message that it cannot extract wma. Instead, it obviously just...

Re: Weird .wav files won't play

It would probably be more helpful if you could provide a sample of the original .xsb/.xwb files.

Re: Hyperdimension Neptunia U .wwb sound files

Hi sammyrms1, the .wwb looks like a normal .xwb, but for some reason (maybe because it's an unsupported version) xactxtract cannot extract the files. Maybe unxwb can. The .wsb is a modified .xsb. They put 16 additional bytes before the soundbank header ("SDBK"), so delete the first 16 Byte of the .w...

Re: XBlaze: Code Embryo xactxtract Help .XWB

Here's a very small .xsb containing 3 standard sound entries: Cue-Name |Soundtyp | Wavebankname+Index ------------------------------|---------|---------------------------------- SHOT ->Std-> Wave Bank_0 BREAK1 ->Std-> Wave Bank_1 BREAK2 ->Std-> Wave Bank_2 As described above, you can find the offse...

Re: XBlaze: Code Embryo xactxtract Help .XWB

That might make things really difficult, but okay. My next question, is there a way to find what cues go to the waves? However, I think answer to that question. I only know how to read the standard entries (1 cue -> 1 sound and 1 sound -> 1 wave). The non-standard cue and sound entries are (as ment...

Re: XBlaze: Code Embryo xactxtract Help .XWB

Hi, if each cue was related to exactly one sound and each sound was related to exactly one track (pointing to a file in the .xwb), then the output would look like this: Cue-Name |Soundtyp | Wavebankname+Index ------------------------------|---------|---------------------------------- EndScene5_title...

Re: XBlaze: Code Embryo xactxtract Help .XWB

You're right - in this case (where you have only 'standard cues', i.e. the same amount of cues and wave files) it would be possible to name the waves exactly like the cue names. Unfortunately, xactxtract is an old Perl script I wrote 7 years ago and the source code is somewhere on an old hard disk, ...

Re: XBlaze: Code Embryo xactxtract Help .XWB

The problem is that the cue names in the .xsb cannot be assigned uniquely to the (wav) files in the .xwb. A cue may contain several sounds and each sound may contain several tracks. The (unnamed) track entries in the .xsb point to the files in the .xwb.

Re: Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend (PC) XWB file trouble

Hi BBPlayer, the sound section in your xsb differs from the original one, so creating a new xsb is probably not the best approach. Just to be sure: ' If I only gave it a new XWB file and NO XSB.. .' does NOT mean that there was no xsb at all, but means that you tried the OLD xsb together with your n...
