Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

This is great news that we can now open LOD1-5 meshes, thank you very much. About the mapping problem, it is not such a big deal to edit the UV Mapping ourselves.

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

So I've been playing around with some models, using LOD0 from FM4 with other LODS from FM3. After readjusting the mapping on the FM4 LOD0 mesh, I though I might try transfer UV mapping from FM3 LOD0 to FM4 LOD0. I did this and all was fine, until I exported. Then the bad normals from FM3 LOD0 meshes...

Re: Driver: San Francisco for PC

Using Game Extractor I extracted a bunch of .VEHC files and a few other files (.SSIC, .DMWK and .BINF) .BINF is clear text resource directory.

No idea if this helps I have no clue what I am doing, lol

Here is a sample of the .VEHC and other files.

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

Yup, until you modify the mesh in poly mode. Or export.

Try adding a mesh smooth modifier of 0 and see.

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

Alot of (car rip) models I import into Max has unwelded verts in those areas, even non Forza ones. It's easy to fix, but rather annoying.

As for around the fuel cap, this is common with alot of the Forza 3 models, and around door handles etc etc.

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

Agreed, I'm more than happy to be able to view and play around with the 3d meshes as they are right now, and I'm more than happy to wait patiently for the final fixed version.

Please don't bug him and just wait patiently like the rest of us. I'm sure that he will update us when he can. Remember he isn't getting paid for this.

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

Yup exports great apart from the UV Mapping, Good news too, seems LOD0 can be edited without getting all messed up :) At least with the models I've tried. And scale is the same as the FM3 models.

Re: -NFS:Shift 2 Unleashed-

Follow the tutorial for installing a maxscript for TDU as posted above, make sure to hit ctrl E about 4 times, I was getting same errors until I done this, I hit Ctrl E 4 times and then it imported fine (Pagani C9).
