Re: Username Change Request?

Requesting name change to "basil" (or if that's taken, "basilmaster"). Thanks!

Re: Visual Novel Translation

I guess this won't solve this specific problem, but have you seen this entry on the Amaterasu Translations FAQ page ? Q: Can I use some of your translated scripts and tools to start a Spanish/French/Italian/etc translation project? A: Just talk to me and I'll send you whatever I have. I'm all for mo...

Re: How to localization correctly?

Yes, those looks like font files  Since you played this game, do you have any idea which fonts are used where, judging by the filenames alone? Anyway, the way usually I do this is (1) open files with known extensions, (2) research unknown file extensions, and (3) try using a hex editor. (1) I...

Re: How to localization correctly?

Okay... so we're done with Applocale now, and let's forget about "encoding=". Time for Plan B. Basically you want to figure out in which file the font graphics are stored. Are you new to this part? Finding files like this is more of an art than a science. See if you can figure it out from the filena...

Re: Visual Novel Translation

(Screenshots rehosted on imgur for those who prefer that)

Yikes, that really is some huge spacing! But not all monospace Russian/Cyrillic looks that bad, right? Would you be satisfied with having the same width as the English characters?

Re: Visual Novel Translation

Edit: Whoops I'm dumb, I didn't realize the English translation also uses a fixed-width font.

P.S. Can you show me a screenshot of full-width, hard-to-read Russian text? And under your screenshot, can you type the same text (so I can see how it looks normally)? Maybe we can think of something...

Re: How to localization correctly?

Ah, that's right. If you want to see an example, this person wants to translate Sniper Elite 3 to Arabic.

Can you post a screenshot of the game with text, any text? I want to see something...

(Hmm, I just realized... what about right-to-left reading order, how will that work?)

Re: How to localization correctly?

Here, try this. (I can't tell if you tried this specific combination yet.) 1. Encode your text with "code page 1256" or "windows 1256" or something similar. If it's not there, encode with Arabic -> Windows. 2. Run in Applocale with Arabic. If there is more than one Arabic choice, try all of them. P....

Re: Font Edit

Someone else recommended XnView. Save as png with XnView, edit png with any program, then save it as dds with XnView. They said it worked for Sniper Elite 2.

Re: How to localization correctly?

What language are you translating to? And what Notepad encodings have you tried? If you replace text with English words, do the new English words appear correctly? This is a complete shot in the dark, but you could try launching Lucius with AppLocale , a free program by Microsoft. (You might have to...

Re: resident evil 5 lmt question

Sorry, I scoured Google and all I could find were 1.) LMT Tool, a tool for swapping LMT animations between characters without actually decoding them, and 2.) someone long ago begging in the Noesis topic, only to get snubbed for linking to copyrighted LMT files or something. edit: 3.) Ah, and a coupl...

Re: Child of Light parsing templates for translating project

I don't have Child of Light, but I think I understand what tomsolo is saying, maybe. (I could be wrong, though.) BYPASSING IPK FILES: Maybe you know this first part already. Do you understand what tomsolo is saying about .ipk files, starting at "Here is a pack for..." ? I think he's saying the font ...

No problem. If you want, you can  officially  thank me by clicking the Image button at the bottom corner of that post. (Or anyone else's post, for that matter.)

edit: Whoops, I guess you already know, sorry about that.

Here you go ZORROSYR, these are the 3 cached screenshots from Google Image Search. Tiny and blurry, but better than nothing, I hope.

Gosh, it's been years since I was here. Congrats on your 25th-- and nice timing, it just so happens I'm ready to get back into this stuff! (probably) :stalk: ... ...Uh, right now I can't get to MultiEx Commander since http://multiex.xentax.com is only showing a test page. edit: Whoops, maybe it's be...
