Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

maybe you should provide a Who/What source for anything otherwise.. as I've already provided proof of Turn10's digital scans to create their models or did you actually think they were going to scan/computer generate a Bugatti Veryon and not use the same on a VW Touareg or Nissan S15??? xD I don't r...

Who/What is your source for the fact that "almost all" were scanned?

Re: Forza Motorsport Resource Extraction (.carbin)

EDIT2: Meh, I don't know what to think anymore. I can easily modify my app to not dump faces with duplicate vertices, but it seems that the problem originates elsewhere... Any ideas? :X Removing degenerate triangles would seem like a good idea. Just ensure index0 != index1 && index1 != index2 and o...

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)

Someone mentioned something about when you paint the car yourself getting a blank canvas, perhaps the alpha channel is used as a mask of some kind to the bits you can't paint over (like the ferrari logo, brake pads, fuel cap).

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)

Looking again at the converted Ferrari texture I made the other week, I can see all the blue, but in those areas the alpha is 0, hence it was invisible. Are you saying the alpha is correct with your method of conversion?

Try uv.Y = 1.0f - v; instead.

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)

ajmiles, would you be willing to share your current source for the textures? Not until I can get something written that uses only code written by me / people whose permission I have to use their source code. sommergemuese: The race cars can't be painted (except maybe with extra decals?) therefore t...

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)

Yes, first I Import lod0 and then cockpit. And I remove all existing geometry from cockpit (ok to lazy on the window border for this picture but body part is deleted) Another Question: Where are the liverys stored?? And is it possible to import the other things like caliper, discs from car folder a...

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)

Yes, the "race" cars that have a race livery on them almost certainly do have this stored in the texture itself, as you don't buy the car in different colours like you would a Fiesta or BMW. The only cars I have (the ones from this forum) are all road cars, so don't contain texture information for a...

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)

How is it that you're rendering both the outside of the car as well as the cockpit? When I looked at those two models separately it looked to me like they both included some of the same geometry. For example, when I rendered the outside of the car, you can see the entire front doors, on the cockpit ...

Re: [Xbox 360] Forza 3 Resource Extraction Tool (.carbin)

The fiesta has: damage, damage_lod0 damagelights, damagelights_lod0 interior_lod0 leather2_nrm lights, lights_lod0 nodamage, nodamage_lod0 plastic2_nrm The BMW doesn't appear to have normal maps for leather or plastic. The Aston Martin I have has a 'wood' too and again no normal maps. So it varies p...

Just the background colour (ie, where there's no 0 alpha).
