I , use this method.
1. Download ninja ripper 1.5.1
2. Download firefox browser
After all is installed
3. Right click on ninja ripper x86 and run as administrator .
4. Set rip all as f4 , direct exe. to firefox exe. , set intruder to d3d9 wrapper.

And your ready to rip when you hit f4 dont hit any other buttons ,i rotate the model and if it pauses you know its ripping.

I really wanna rip these 2 models:

I tried with Ninja Ripper and firefox, but nothing happens. Do you need some older firefox version or so? I use Firefox 51.0.1 (32 bit) on Windows 10 and run ninja ripper as admin. The rip folder just stays empty.

Here's a script to extract the mview archive and convert the .dat files to .obj (wavefront) files...

and just for kicks and practice, a bms script to split the files from mview :D
Code:
get ARC_SIZE asize
do
   get NAME string
   get PATH string
   get ZERO long
   get SIZE long
   get UNK long
   savepos OFFSET
   string PATH + \
   string PATH + NAME
   string NAME = PATH
   log NAME OFFSET SIZE
   math OFFSET + SIZE
   goto OFFSET
while OFFSET < ARC_SIZE

Cool, this is really helpful.

However, I ran into an issue, the extract_model script returned the following error:

Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "extract_model.py", line 119, in <module>
    main(sys.argv[1])
File "extract_model.py", line 84, in main
    x = unpack("<f", df.read(4))[0]
struct.error: unpack requires a string argument of length 4

It was able to convert most of the .dat, and this error occurred when trying to convert the largest one (12.6mb .dat). Would this be a uint32 file that you mentioned? If so, maybe add an error message saying this (if it is detectable).

Btw, I think some users in this thread posted tips on how to process the compressed files, just no one has implemented it into a solution.

What is the value of this? I'm not sure what you're splitting, and why you would. Also not sure how you run this.

Yes, that is right its about the uint32 or long indices issue. It's something I haven't really gotten around yet. So any large files, can't process yet.

Yes, it is detectable. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll add it now :D

EDIT: its been added. will now show error.

EDIT EDIT: The long indices problem has been fixed. You can now open large files.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Now has a Noesis plugin. Which I recommend over the scripts.

Getting an error with your new one, even on simple models:

Code:
TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for <<: 'str' and 'int'

It's only able to extract the thumbnail atm.

I just tested the latest version and it works for me. Are you referring to the python scripts or the noesis plugin? I tested both though.

My bad, my python was out of date. Seems to be working, including on files that could not previously be extracted.

Great job, thank you for your hard work. :D

hey thanks for the latest scripts and noesis plugin. works like a charm. however i'm having issues with a single mview file found here https://www.artstation.com/embed/5875945
noesis just hangs if i try to open it. the scripts work to some extent, i can extract and covert meshes but the textures are the problem, most of them come out as 1x1 pixel images. tried with ninja ripper and i'm getting the same results which is quite strange. i can see when i play the viewer that the textures are there (normal, albedo, reflectivity and gloss).

Using the latest noesis plugin I get this:

Image

It takes a while to load on Noesis but it does load, I waited about 30sec on a 5960x machine with dual titan X. With a lower machine it might take a minute or 2. UI should freeze. It will show you "Not Responding" but just wait for it.

I'll try to check what I can do about the textures if I have the time.

============

UPDATE: The issue is harder than expected. I don't think I'll be able to update this any time soon as I'm quite busy with other things.

The material mat0_c.jpeg is the BlueShirt. And it uses the microfiber parameter. Which means the texture of 1x1 pixel is right. It's the texture for the cloth. My conclusion is this is a custom shader from Marmoset.

thanks for the reply. don't worry, take your time. this is the only mview file that was giving me trouble. every other file worked like a charm with your scripts.
