If you can do that it would be awesome.
A guy already implemented my Minato Mirai area in his complete Shuto Expwy in AC. I tried to talk to him and he said he aims for a complete map but he did not specify he would release it. There are also a bunch of other guys seemingly knowing each other and making these Wangan mods but are not talking to anyone who's not Japanese...

There's this other group of AC modders who seem to have had contact with them but were unsuccessful.

I think that everyone is on its own now...

This is BIG news. I'll test the map once i have free time from college. We could really help them by exploring the whole map and finding bugs around the map. :D

It seems they had gone for something on their own and moved the track away after December (link may still work, but disappeared).

Had driven a few times on the full track, didn't have much problem except ran into the wrong line and fell off...

Except I couldn't have other (computer) drivers tag along... I wonder if anyone care to fix the start boxes and make a start/finish line, e.g. on the Rainbow Bridge? I mean, I can make the AI lines on our own (so we can mix and match C1, Circular, Wangan line, Yokohama, etc clockwise/counterclockwise in a lap) but I was just looking for a way so I can do a race at the wangan circuit, much bigger than C1.

A la GT sports in AC, if you must say. (:

Ahhh... Seems i misunderstood. You might wanna ask someone experienced for that, or just look at some other map mods for references. I have zero knowledge with track editing for ac too :(

Never mind, just wanted to be lazy :bleh:

After some fitting, 3dsimed looks simple enough to just fit my need of moving boxes here and there (20 days free trial though). Now I have a finish line, and seems I can start recording AI line now.

Did tried Blender, but I couldn't do the same thing easily (like finding track objects after opening, to begin with). As said, I'm just a holiday driver...

May put the start boxes later when I have time. No easy task though, and I need to learn how to rotate the start boxes so the cars won't drive in the wrong direction.

But I thought that carpark is too small as pit (think a race of 20 or more, and when the drivers go in for refuel), so I need to switch off fuel consumption and tire wearing altogether. You'll want to use the wangan straight if you want a proper pitlane, then some tent models, trucks, pit marks, blablabla... which I won't have the power of doing them. YMMV :wink:

Hi all... been reading through for days now, and seem to understand well, got lots of tools and cues on how to use them also, so big thanks to all for that.. BUT

WANGAN MIDNIGHT 5 ~ Any info? i got just 1 car i want from the whole game, i have the .MDL and .TEX files for it. but cannot open them/dump them hoping some of you lovely amazing people can help??

So, i read the 17 pages, and im still clueless. How can i extract just 1 car from Wangan Midnight 5?

i have the .mdl and .tex files but so far, nothing is working for me. I assume (totally :P ) i missed something and my lack of knowledge is destroying my chances,
Can any of you gents point me in the direction of some tasty info/tutorial/tools i can get a hand on please?

Currently none of us tried to extract cars from that game.
This topic is created mainly to do research on files for Wangan Midnight PS3, thus making the models from the game (both cars and tracks) loadable in 3d softwares like 3dsmax for example. You should know that almost all cars from WMMT4-5 exists in this mobile game called Drift Spirits (exactly the same model with lower res texture), so give the Drift Spirits page in IGCD (Internet Game Cars Database) a try to look for the car you want. Some Drift Spirits car models are already uploaded to Gamemodels website, since extracting them is a pain in the A.
